April Release Update And Scrap Fest

G’day! It’s Thanh here and I just wanted to pop in and give you a quick update of some upcoming events for YNS. If you’ve been wondering why things have been pretty quiet, it’s because Karen is really busy preparing for the Scrap Fest event that is taking place locally close to her hometown. For all you locals in the Ontario area, she’s hoping to see you out this weekend!

We also have exclusive stamps and dies for Scrap Fest – if you’ve attended in the past and missed out, now is the time to grab them while they’re on sale this week:

With the preparation of Scrap Fest, our April release is delayed until the 15th this month.

We’ll be starting the sneak peeks on the 14th, so be sure to keep an eye on this blog. Actually, you better go and add us on Instagram – I have a tendency to sneak previews before the day of on that little app!

We hope that you’re as excited as we are to show you all the new releases! Take care until next time.

I’m introducing our second Guest Designer for the month of April and we’re so excited to be bringing two fresh faces to the YNS Team this month! Blog: Luv 2 Scrap N Make Cards

My name is, Kendra, I live in Wisconsin with my high school sweetheart and our two fun energetic kids!! ! I’m a SAHM in winter and work landscaping in summer! I have a passion for flowers!! As well as crafting! I started scrapping 15 years ago as both my husband and I raced at a local race track and I wanted to keep track of our wins and photos.  From that it grew into a HUGE obsession!  I started scrapping everything and then just over 8 years ago got into making all my own cards! I am so super excited to be joining YNS this month!!  Love all the products!!

Welcome Guest Designer Danielle Vincent

G’day , YNS readers!! We may be introducing her on April Fool’s, but let me tell you, our first Guest Designer this month, is no fool! I’ve been communicating with her often these past few days and her personality just SHINES through her emails. I can tell that if we were to meet in real life, she’d give my abs a workout because she’d keep me laughing.

Please help me in welcoming our first Guest Designer this month:

Danielle Vincent
Blog: D’s Crafty Connection

Hello, I’m Danielle. It’s pronounced like Da-Neel – or if you are old enough to remember like Tenielle from the Captain and Tenielle (oops I think I may have just given away my age – lol). I’ve been married for 24 years to a man who is incredibly tolerant of my crafting obsession. We have a 21 year old son and a 14 year old daughter and two fur babies.

I’ve been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for 21 years – this is how I pay the bills but my real passion is cardmaking and scrapbooking! This hobby of mine started as a form of stress relief and has turned into the most wonderful obsession. I started my blog – D’s Crafty Connection – in February 2012. I haven’t settled on one definite style yet – I’m still playing around and having fun as I continue to challenge myself. One of my dreams when I started my blog was to be on a design team for a blog and I’ve been very fortunate to have that opportunity as well as to be a guest designer several times. I am so thrilled to be with you at Your Next Stamp this month. I hope my creations will inspire you. I’m totally thrilled when I know that I have inspired someone in some way as I am constantly inspired by many of you – so wonderful to return the favor.

I’m looking forward to seeing your creations and visiting your blogs. I applaud you for entering challenges and sharing your creations – it’s a terrific way to help yourself grow and be inspired.

Hugs and Happy Crafting! D

For Danielle’s first project with us, she used one of my favourite stamp sets, Oh, Jam It!

DT Series Post: Q and A with Angel

Hello everyone!  It’s Monday and time for another Design Team series Q & A post!

angel

Q1.  Tell us about your family and where you live:

A.  Hi, I’m Angel.  I currently live just north of Oklahoma City.  We are an active duty military family, so we’ve moved quite a bit in our (just over) 20 years of marriage.  😉  We have 3 boys (17, 14 and 11) and 2 fur babies, a German Shepard named Chief and a doxie named Dexter.

Q2. When did you join YNS?

A.  I first joined YNS as a part of the digital design team in 2013.  When Karen decided to only have one DT, I was lucky enough that she decided to keep me.  😀

Q3. What are your favorite YNS images?

A.  Ugh, seriously, I have to pick?!  There are just too many AWESOME sets – all of the Waddles sets, Dino-mite, the Little Darling collections, I mean, come on, man!  😉

Q4. What are your favorite color combos?

A.  Another tough question!  One of them is blues and yellows/oranges, which I used for my card.  Those colors say ‘warmth’ and ‘sunshine’ to me!  I also love pink/white/black and red/light blues/white.  I could go on and on, really…

For this card, I used Fruity Fun.  See how happy these colors are together?!  I also used an image from the Create a Character set to give this guy some life.  😉  The background was done by using the stitching marks circle die set – LOVE the extra interest this technique adds!  The sentiment is from the Whatnot sentiments four set.  And let’s not forget the Lemon Gumdrops!

To see more inspiration from Your Next Stamp, head on over to our Pinterest page.

Thanks so much for joining me for my Q & A!

Hugs ~

Angel

Welcome March Guest Designer Tanja Kewel-Neef

Hello, hello! Welcome to March, lovelies. I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend so far. March is going to be an awesome month – with spring just around the corner (really!), the Design Team will be bringing you lots of inspiration! We also have two guest designers joining us this month and they’ll be joining us in our March release with sneak previews in less than a week away!

Our first guest that I’m introducing comes to us all the way from Germany! She’s sure got spunk and I love her simple and humorous style. You’ll see exactly what I mean in the coming month when you see her projects for Your Next Stamp.  Please help me in welcoming Tanja Kewel-Neef:

Tanja Kewel-Neef
Blog: Stamp Playground (Stempel Spielplatz)

Hi everyone, Tanja here!

I live in Germany somewhere between Hanover and Hamburg. Together with my hubby and our two kids.

I’ve been a paper crafter since I don’t  know when. I did this and that. The first time I held my first rubberstamp in my hand, I found my real passion. My main occupation isn’t very creative. But I searched and found satisfaction in paper crafting.

I love to make cards. Mostly my style is clean and simple. I LOVE monster stamps!!!! I can’t get enough of them. I buy every monster stamp I see. When I would like to make a card and it doesn’t work, my day is done and I’m angry!!! A little bit 🙂
Almost all of my cards get a black-line border. Without this border they are not complete (in my opinion).

I’m glad to be a part of the crafty community. It means a lot to me and I’m very happy that I get to have fun every day. To learn more about me, please go visit my blog.

I love, LOVE this fun card from Tanja! She sure wasn’t kidding when she said she loved monsters. Just had to prove her point with making a monster card as her introductory project.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Welcome February Guest Designer Tara Godfrey

Hello! We hope that you are enjoying your week so far. I am excited to introduce you to our February Guest Designer:

Tara Godfrey
Blog: Inking on the Edge

Hi, I’m Tara (Tar-ah). I live in Ontario, Canada about a 45 minute drive from Toronto. I’m married to a great guy, Chris, and we have two awesome kids, Hannah and Kieran and two cute cats, Liam and Kato! I work full-time outside the home as an American Sign Language/English interpreter for the Canadian Hearing Society, a large non-profit organization.

I started out scrapbooking shortly after my son was born…about 13 years ago. Several years later, I stumbled across cute stamped images that could be coloured  with Copic markers…I was totally hooked!!! Soon after that, I started a blog, Inking on the Edge, and became involved in the on-line paper-crafting community and I’ve been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to design and teach for several local scrapbooking stores, popular stamp companies and challenge blogs! I LOVE the layered/embellished look usually with the addition of a “cute” stamped image. I spend all my free time getting inky, colouring up those cute stamped images with my Copics and die-cutting until my hearts content.

For Tara’s card, she used Gumdrops, Open Scallop Die and the Smiley Happy Critter Crew Three which also happens to be our current Throwback Thursday set.
