Hello September! We’re getting ready for the September release and we’re so happy that Vicki Poulton will be joining us as our guest this month! Please help me in welcoming her to YNS:
Hi I am Vic and I am 32 years old. I live with my boyfriend and we have two daughters Millie who is 4 and Poppy who is 7 months. We live in Buckinghamshire England. I have been crafting for a very long time about 11 years now and I absolutely love cardmaking. I am always crafting late at night and I could spend hours making cards. I feel very lucky to be a guest designer this month and this is my first spot designing. I am so excited!

Here’s Vicki’s first card that she created for us:

G’day, YNS friends! We hope that you had a great weekend. Joining us today is ous special guest contributor, Francine, and she’s showcasing one of our new favourite sets at YNS.

Hi everyone!
This is a special month for YNS. They are celebrating their 6th birthday and the new August release is AWESOME!!!!! There are 9 NEW stamp sets, 15 NEW die sets and 2 NEW Sparkly Gumdrop sets!!!! YAY! It’s party time!
To celebrate this birthday, I decided to make a video tutorial. For my card, I used the NEW Silly Monsters Incognito One stamp set. This is my take on this set:
Here is the video showing how I did this card (HERE is the link in case you can’t see the video player below):

HD ICON TO WATCH THE VIDEO IN BETTER QUALITY
***SUPPLIES I USED***
Stamps:Silly
Monsters Incognito 1 (Your Next Stamp) Inks: Black Licorice Hybrid Ink (MFT) Copic markers: Y08, Y17, YR16, R05 +
grey and pink shades Papers: white cardstock, black &
white stripes patterned paper Various: 1 Inch circle punch, Copic
Multiliners, 3D foam pads, tape runner, trimmer, etc.
***TIPS & TRICKS***
If you don’t want to draw a line onto your cardstock, you can stick masking tape or post-it tape instead. Later, you can easily remove the strip
and there will be no pencil mark on your cardstock.
The sets with fun faces and accessories are super versatile! Try to think out of the box!
Keep a lot of white space and don’t add too many different colors or patterned papers. This will bring more focus to the stamps you are showcasing!
Don’t forget to visit the YNS Instagram and Facebook pages more fun projects from the Design Team or check their !

Hello, we hope that your week is going well so far! We are so happy to introduce our latest addition to the Design Team, Kendra Sand! You may recall Kendra was our April 2015 Guest Designer. We fell in love with Kendra’s designs, attitude and her commitment to YNS and we’re so excited that she’s joined the YNS family. August has been a super busy moth so far (thanks to all of you!) and you may have already seen Kendra’s projects from this month. We couldn’t just let her sneak in – we had to give her a proper introduction! Please help me in welcoming Kendra:

G’day, friends! I hope that you had a great weekend. We have a very special guest joining us on the blog today all the way from Australia! Kathy Tanner sure has a treat for you today with her post about sewing on cards. I just adore her sweet flowers that she sewed on her cards. I’ll let her take it away:

🙂 Hi!
I am very excited to be a Guest Designer for Your Next Stamp this month. I love their cute and quirky designs, they just make me smile. They are celebrating their 6th Birthday and I get to join in the fun! Yay!
I made the Jessica with her Kitty card for my daughter’s birthday and you can probably tell that she is a “purple-loving girl”. She loves it when I do a bit of stitching on cards too and I thought Jessica would look great walking through a field of flowers.
It’s so nice to do some sewing on a card, it really adds an extra little something in my opinion and I think the receiver can see the love that’s gone into the making of it.
I decided I would try giving Phoebe some flowers too. I just did the stems slightly differently and used brighter colours this time.
So I thought I would try to show you how I made the flowers on these cards. If you’re like me, you’ve tried lots of different crafts before getting totally obsessed with card makingl! Cross-stitch was one of my previous loves and I have LOTS of embroidery cotton sitting around.
I’ve used 1 strand of green for the stems and 2 strands of a colour to make the flowers.
I’ve also used an embroidery needle, some white card and a small foam mat.
You could get very precise and measure the stems so they are all even, all the same height, etc, but I haven’t bothered to do that with these cards – it is all done by freehand.
I pierce 2 holes with my needle for the stem, thread it with 1 strand of green cotton and start from the back coming to the front and tape the end to the back of the card. Complete a simple straight stitch. You could do it without pushing the needle into the card on the foam mat, but I find the card gets bent that way.
Then take the needle out and thread with 2 strands of colours for the flower. Now you are going to sew a French Knot. You might already know how to make one, as they are used in some cross-stitch and embroidery work. They are easy when you know how.
You come from the back of your work again. Come up through the hole which is the top of the stem you made. Leave a little thread at back and tape down.
Pull thread through to the front.
Hold the thread tightly in your left hand and wrap the thread over and around the needle.
I did 3 wraps for the flowers in the middle and 2 wraps for the outside flowers. The more wraps you do, the bigger the flowers are.
Still holding the thread tightly in your left hand, you turn the needle down and into the same hole that it came up from. Pull slightly on the thread in your left hand to tighten the “wraps” a little.
Slowly push the needle through to the back of the card, while holding your left thumb on the thread and keeping it taut, keep pulling the thread all the way through and you should have a beautiful little French Knot Flower.
I just use double sided tape to adhere all the threads to the back of the card.
As I use a fairly large needle, it leaves quite a largish hole in the card. The top hole is covered by the French Knot, but I like to cover up the lower hole by using patterned paper as “grass”.
For the Jessica and her Kitty card I had the 3 flower stems coming from the same starting hole. But with the second card, I did all the flowers separately.
I hope you’ll give embroidery on your cards a try!
Thanks for joining me today on the YNS Blog and you can learn more about me on my blog at Stamping Still. For more YNS inspiration, you can head over to the YNS Pinterest page.

Hello, YNS friends! It’s always hard to say goodbye, but we’re saying farewell to four of our Design Team members today. I hope you will all take the time to read a little more about these wonderful ladies and join me in thanking them for their beautiful work during their time on the Your Next Stamp Design Team!
Angel
Angel originally started with us on our Digital Team but stayed on when we fully went back to our rubber roots. I’ve always admired Angel’s sweet and simple designs with fabulous splashes of colour. Her staging and photography are beautiful and gives her projects that extra sparkle in her photos. We’ll miss her beautiful smile around here, but you can always stay in touch with Angel on her blog – Angel’s Creative World.

Annette
Annette only joined us this past January, but the creations she made in her short time with us were amazing! We’ve appreciated Annette’s hard work and dedication to YNS. She’s going to be doing some travelling in the future and now has her hands full with her latest addition to her family – a puppy named Sammy. You can read more about Annette (and Sammy) on her blog, My Clever Creations. She had a way with creating beautiful backgrounds in all her cards and this is exactly why I chose this card to showcase her work! Please join me in thanking Annette for all of her inspiration!

Brianna
Brianna also started on the Digi Team and stayed on with YNS to continue designing bright and fun projects. We’re so excited for her as she is about to welcome her newest addition to her family! Brianna’s whimsical style and her happy personality will be missed from her YNS family, but we know she won’t be far. We love the fact that she’s always been so enthusiastic about YNS and that’s why I’ve chosen this card as a favorite from Brianna to showcase. It shows off her style perfectly! To stay in touch with her, please head on over to her blog, Happy Scrapper.

Wendy
Wendy has been one of our longest Design Team members at YNS and she’s been such an amazing asset! She has evolved with YNS and has gone from using our purple cling rubber stamps, digital images to switching over to our crystal clear stamps. She is a true original member at YNS and we’ve enjoyed her commitment throughout the years. Wendy’s signature projects are her step cards and 3D projects. This is one lady who knows how to wow her recipients with fabulous interactive cards and moving gifts! To see what I mean, you should check out her blog, Wake up with Wendy, to see what she’s made lately. You won’t be disappointed as you look at her previous projects.
As hard as it is to say farewell, we’re also very excited that the new release is coming up on August 9th. Stay tuned as previews start on August 8th!

Oh me, oh my, we’re almost done with July! It’s Thanh here with you and yes, I can be that cheesy in person. 😀 I know I say this every month and I’m sure it gets old, but this month has gone by fassst! We were so fortunate to have two guest designers joining us this month and now it’s time to say farewell.
Please help me in saying farewell to both Laura and Francine. Laura has one last card with us this Friday in the Fun Friday Challenge. Here are some of my favourite cards from both of them and if you’d like to see more of what they’re made of – or rather, what they can make, please go and visit them on their blogs!

Happy Monday, YNS friends! I hope you had a great start of July and to our American friends, we hope that you had an extra amazing weekend!
Don’t forget, you still have plenty of time to hop along in our July release right now.
I’m always so excited to introduce our guests, but our next guest comes all the way from Europe. She’s been our special guest before and a pleasure to work with in the past. If you hopped along in our July release, you may have noticed that she also created some wonderful projects already seen HERE and HERE. Please help me in welcoming Francine as our first July guest:
My name is Francine! I live in Switzerland in the wonderful Three Lakes Region with my sweetheart and our three cats. I’m bilingual in German and French from birth.
I discovered scrapbooking and cardmaking in 2009 by leafing through a book and it was love at first sight! I like playing with different styles and techniques. It depends on my mood and inspiration. But I always love coloring, rainbow and bright colors, making splatters, using stencils and blending tools, paint brushes and watercolors. When I’m not crafting, I spend my spare time cooking, playing bowling and party/board games with friends, taking walks along the lake or going on boat trips with our motor boat during Summer. I couldn’t live far from a lake and without my cats! Cuddling with them makes me SO happy!

Francine’s card is so awesome – no pun intended! I love her signature style that always focuses on some color and then using lots of white space to emphasize the splash of color.
Keep an eye out on what Francine is creating this month, she’s been known to enable a lot our fans! hehe. To learn more about Francine, please head on over to her blog.
I’ll be back tomorrow to introduce our second Guest Designer. Have a great day!

Happy July 1st and to all of our Canadian friends, Happy Canada Day!
What’s happening in July at YNS? We’ve got a fun release happening on July 5th and then I’ll be introducing you to our fabulous Guest Designers. You’ll already be seeing a preview of their work during the July release.
Let’s talk about the main reason why I’m posting today. We are beyond excited to welcome two new Design Team members to the YNS family! These ladies have been anxiously waiting to start their term with us and we couldn’t be happier to have them on board. We enjoyed reading all the applications for our last DT Call, but these two ladies and their enthusiasm really made an impression on us.
Please help me in welcoming Holly and Kymona to YNS:
I felt that I couldn’t give these ladies an introduction without giving you a taste of what their style is like so here are cards made by each Designer from the past little while:

Hi there and happy Monday, YNS readers! I hope that you had a great weekend and enjoyed the June Release Hop that started yesterday. There’s still plenty of time to join in all the fun and have a chance to win a $20 gift certificate. You can start right here and hop along NOW.
I’m so excited to be introducing you to our second Guest Designer this month, Tonya Dirk. Here’s one lady who is willing to roll with the punches and I’m so glad because she was able to create up a storm before going away this past weekend. We ran into a postal mishap right before her vacation weekend and the New Release. I was checking in with her every day to see if she had gotten her little YNS goody package and everyday it was the same outcome. We were both finally so relieved and happy that her package came and she hopped right in to creating her awesome projects. I can’t wait to see what else she creates this month! Without further ado, here’s Tonya in her own words:
Hi, I’m Tonya and like many of you, I have been an artsy crafty person for as long as I can remember. I started scrapbooking shortly before the birth of our first child. Our shelves soon filled up with album full of scrapbook layouts and we ran out of room for more…so I switched over to card making. I love being able to share my cards with others and not having to stick them in an album hidden away. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have four children, ages 9-17.We live in the pacific northwest in the city of Portland, Oregon. When I’m not driving the kids to all of their functions or attending sporting events you can find me in my garden, watercolor painting, paper crafting or out on the tennis courts.

Look at how awesome this card is! I love that Tonya used the Woodland Cuties and water coloring. Right on trend!
To see more of Tonya’s work, head on over to her blog.
Thanks for stopping in today and don’t forget that we have plenty of inspiration on our Pinterest page.
