Welcome Sylvie

We have so much exciting news to share! Not only is the new YNS online shop opening later this week, but we have a new release on the way AND we have a new addition to the YNS family!

Join us in welcoming Sylvie from @Kaliscards to the YNS Team!!!

Sylvie was a guest in May/June 2021. Once we saw her amazing creations we knew that we wanted to see more on a regular basis! Sylvie has this incredible knack for combining stamp sets to create darling scenes. Her cards are fun, creative and definitely smile inducing! We are sure that you will be amazed!

We wanted to give you a chance to learn more about Sylvie, so we asked her to answer some deep, thought provoking crafting questions…

What do you enjoy most about paper crafting?
Paper crafting gives me a lot! It’s a place and time where I can relax, be myself, be creative, generate positive vibes.
I like that you can learn at your own pace. I remember how scared I was before I started paper crafting. I was afraid not to be good at it and quickly give up.
It took me a couple years to finally decide to invest on alcohol markers and a die cutting machine! But eventually, I realized you can never fail; you just have to accept to start simple and develop your skills over time.
No matter how big a project is, the result will always be adorable (there are so many cute stamp sets that you can pick from!). And you never get bored; there are so many different techniques that you can learn over time!
And finally, paper crafting allows me to share some of these positive vibes with their recipients, which is priceless!!!

Favorite YNS Stamp set?
There are a lot! I think I love every single stamp set illustrated by Macy Wong. They have so many details;  they are sweet, cute and funny.
Her cats and bunnies are just adorable (Have you seen their paws? So cute!)!!!

Favorite papercrafting technique?
Masking! I like everything about the technique: imagining the scene and organizing placement, fussy cutting, unmasking and revealing the scene (Ahhh! Love that moment and just can’t wait to see the final result).
Masking is relaxing for me. It is also a great scene enabler and offers endless possibilities (from partial masking to creating more complex scenes with multiple layers). I’m also a great fan of one-layer cards; they are flawless to me.

What is your ideal way to spend the weekend?
Crafting, whenever I can. With the pandemic, I was able to craft most weekends for the past year and I enjoyed it very much!

Who inspires you?
The two loves of my life: my hubby (and his passion for pigs, planes and space, though not quite in this order, I hope) and our cat, Kali!
Oceane, one of my friends, is also a great source of inspiration. She lives in Canada and I live on the other side of the Atlantic, in France. We don’t get to see each other that often.
So, I like to picture her in her environment when she shares funny anecdotes or moments of her life, and that often leads to a card idea.
I sometimes like to step out of reality and imagine her cats interacting with mine, for instance.

We are looking forward to sharing Sylvie’s creations with the new September release products. The previews start on Monday and the team, including Sylvie, is ready to inspire you!

Happy Stamping!

Today is Deborah Anton’s day and she is heading to the beach.

Hi Everyone! Deborah here and I am ready to take you to the beach.  I have had some fun beach times this summer and it always included a little happy hour with friends.  I couldn’t resist using the YNS set Happy Hour to create a beach scene.

YNS Supplies:
Happy Hour stamp set
Happy Hour Dies
Waddles Beach Fun dies for the sun

Start by sponging the background with distress inks and then spray lightly over the top with pearlized water. It’s hard to tell in the picture, but there is a lot of shimmer to this card.  The fun coconut drink and umbrella from the Happy Hour set are cut out using the coordinating dies. Each are propped up on the sand.  The sun from the Waddles Beach Fun set completes the sunset scene.  Stamp the sentiment directly on the card base.

Now it’s time to head on over to IG and start tagging your friends. Wouldn’t it be great to win a $25.00 YNS e-gift card for yourself and win a $10.00 YNS e-gift card for a friend??!! Trio of Cuties from Kendra

Designer Kendra Sand is taking over the YNS Blog today. She is sharing three cards made using stamps from Your Next Stamp that were published in the December 2018 issue of Making Cards & Papercraft Magazine!!

First, let’s share the deal of the day. Today you can save 30% off sentiment stamp sets in the YNS Store!

Now we turn it over to Kendra:

I’m so excited to share these cute cards with you.  The first two use the adorable Good Glidings stamp and coordinating Good Glidings Die Set.
I used the cute giraffe on the first one.

I started by stamping the ‘Gliding By With Holiday Cheer’ sentiment from the Good Glidings stamp set on a slant in the middle of my card base.  I then used the Thick Rectangle Die Set to create my fun shaker window!!  Once finished I adhered it to my card base on a slant above the sentiment! I stamped the giraffe image with Black Olive Ink and colored in with my Copics.  I die cut the giraffe out and added to the right side of my frame!

For the next card I used the adorable deer from the Good Glidings stamp set. I created my card base and then added a piece of brown and green plaid pattern paper from the Mint Cocoa Kisses 6×6 Paper Pad!

I then cut a piece of white paper the size of my card base and cut on an angle on the right side, so once adhered to my card base you’d see the pattern paper.  Before adding to my card base, I stamped the ‘Gliding By With Holiday Cheer’ sentiment neat the bottom right.  I also used the Double Pierced Hills Die Set, to die cut about 1′ up from the bottom left corner, just a portion of the die, so that it looks like a skating mark!! I love the look!!  So fun!I stamped the deer image with Black Olive Ink and colored in with my Copics. Die cut the deer out with the coordinating die and adhered to my card with pop-dots.  I finished the card off by adding some Gumdrops to the upper right of my card.

For my last card I used the Home for the Holidays stamp and coordinating Home for the Holidays Die Set.

I created my card base from a piece of teal cardstock!  I then used the Stitched Scalloped Rectangles Die Set for my white scalloped cardstock layer, which I adhered directly to my card base.

I used the Stitched Rectangle Die Set to create a teal and white cardstock layers.  I stamped the ‘Season’s Greetings’ sentiment with Black Olive Ink on the white rectangle cardstock layer near the bottom right. I then adhered the two layers together.  Wrapped some Divine Twine near the upper right and adhered to my card base with pop-dots.  I added a button and twine bow as well.

I stamped the sweet birdhouse image with  Black Olive Ink and colored with my Copics.  I die cut the sweet image out and added some Glossy Accents to the snow on the birdhouse and then sprinkled some glitter on it!  I let it dry, shook off the excess glitter and adhered to my card with pop-dots!! Three super fun holidays card!

Have a lovely day!

Kendra

Happy Monday and happy day after Super Bowl!

Did your team win? I hope either way, you had a great weekend doing what you enjoy or watching the bowl game.

Today, I am sharing a little love with a treat project using the super fun Butterfly Treat Box die and Silly Love Monsters stamp set.

YNS Supplies:

This treat box would typically have the beautiful butterfly as the topper, but I decided to create my own topper to make it fit for Valentines and have a heart that I created as a topper instead.  The box is filled with the conversational kisses and I decorated the outside using some patterned paper.  I cut out the Silly Love Monster to be popped up over that.  The sentiment was stamped and placed at an angle and finished with some of the fun Hearts and Dots Gumdrops.  I also placed a few gumdrops on either side of the box for some added elements.  This die makes for fun and easy treat giving for any occasion.

That’s all for me today, but be sure to check the YNS Blog this whole week to see all the fun projects the DT have done to help get your Valentine mojo in order.  Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great week!

~Deborah
