If you are looking for ideas for a Mother’s Day card then you are at the right spot! Guest Kim Taylor pulls together a card full of color and gumdrops this week.
From Kim:
For this project I used both the Spring Smiles Stamp & Die Sets and Flowers and Smiles Stamp & Die sets. I used the Circle Panel Die with a piece of watercolour paper that I spritzed with some water and splattered with some Ken Oliver Liquid Metals in Sparkle Berry. I stacked up the panel with extra die cut layers of cardstock (I save my oopsie pieces for just this reason) for some dimension. All the images are coloured with Ohuhu Alcohol Markers. The sentiment is from the Flowers and Smiles stamp set. And of course what’s a YNS card without some pretty gumdrop? For this card I used the Coral Reef Sparkly set.
From Kim: This cute little A2 card is made with the Sprinkles Coffee and Tea Stamp set CYNS178 and the Coffee Sentiments set CYNS853. I stamped the coffee ring with several shade of mocha inks for the main panel on 100lb Hammermill cardstock. The image was coloured with Ohuhu alcohol markers, fussy cut and given dimension with some YNS pop dots.
The sentiment is stamped in the darker shade of ink and gumdrops in coffee shades were added to be the finishing touch! The front panel is matted on some brown paper then added to a top fold card base of Accent Opaque 110lb cover.

We have a new guest designer in the YNS house!
Say hi to Kim Taylor! We saw some of Kim’s cards made with YNS products on IG and knew that we had to ask her to be a guest. Cute creations are on the way!
Scroll on down to learn more about Kim and to see her first card as a guest designer.
Hello everyone! I am so happy to be part of YNS as a Guest Designer. My name is Kim Taylor and I live in Southern Ontario Canada with my fabulous hubby and our menagerie of cats & dogs. We have 5 children between us, though they are all grown up and being adults…shocking how fast that happens. I’ve been a scrapbooker since 1998 and teaching scrapbooking classes since 2000. I’ve dabbled in card making over the years but in 2019 I found myself with the card making / stamping / try all the things bug and haven’t looked back since! I fully blame YouTube and our favourite crafty personalities on there for enabling my love of this wonderful hobby. I’m ‘a try all the things’ card maker and love to challenge myself to try new things. For example, 3 years ago there was no way I saw myself colouring with alcohol markers!! I like to say scrapbooking is what I do with my photos but card making is my artistic expression. The best advice that I’ve taken to heart is, ‘it’s just paper’ and if it didn’t work try again. I hope you find inspiration in my creations and I’m very excited to share them with you all!
For this A2 card I ink blended a panel of 100lb hammermill using the YNS Bubbles stencil SYNS018 in a soft peach colour. I layered that over some fun patterned paper from my stash to pull all the colours together. The images are coloured with Ohuhu alcohol markers and are from the Spring Smiles stamp and Die set CYNS782. The sentiment is also from the same set trimmed to a 2″ x 2″ square and outlined with a gold metallic pen. The sentiment and watering can are popped up with the YNS pop dots. And of course the finishing touches are Coral Reef Sparkly Gumdrops.
