Getting the Most from Our Dies – Part 4

Hi all! Maureen here today with part 4 of our mini-series… Getting the Most out of YNS Dies! I’ve shot a video:

In case you don’t have time for the video, I basically show you 3 techniques for how to stack your diecuts for interesting effects.  Technique 1 is off-setting for a shadow effect.  You take 2 of the same diecut in a dark and light tone, and stack them slightly offset with the darker diecut on the bottom to create a shadow:

shadow {Fancy Vine die set}

Technique 2 is stacking multiple diecuts perfectly aligned to help them stand out, in this case, help 1 patterned paper stand out against another patterned paper:

Technique 3 is stacking different colors so there’s a difference when you look at the diecuts from the side.  I show 2 examples of this – a sun done in yellows and oranges:

And a rainbow effect:

And here’s the finished card using the rainbow of diecuts: KupToppers4

I hope that’s given you some ideas how you can stack diecuts for more interest and that helps you get more out of your dies!  Thanks for joining me! ~Maureen

    This is fabulous Maureen! All the techniques shown here are so easy to do yet we don’t always think to use our dies in this way. Thanks for the video too!
