Design Team Q & A: Brianna

Hello everyone, Happy Monday! We are starting this week off with another Design Team series. We are continuing with the super fun question and answer segment, along with favorite color combos. I hope you are enjoying this series as you get to know each of us a little better.

Brianna
Q1: Tell us about your family and where you live:

A: Hello, I’m Brianna. I live in a small town in Northern Minnesota. I live with my husband, who I have been married to for almost 6 years and our three year old son Jayden, with a second baby on the way, coming in August 2015. We also share our home with two fur babies, Dutchess and Shadow our little shih-tzus.

Q2: When did you join YNS?

A: I was first introduced to Your Next Stamp when Karen decided to have a digital design team in October 2013, which I was lucky enough to become apart of. I was apart of the digital team for a year, after that year, Karen decided to go back to her rubber roots. In October of 2014 I became a member of the rubber design team. I have been so blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of  both teams!

Q3: What are your favorite YNS images?

A: This is an almost impossible question to answer, as I love all of the images that YNS has to offer. If I had to choose, I would have to say I am really fond of the; Little Darling Characters, Dino-Mite , Gretchen and Owl and oh so many more 🙂

Q4: Your favorite color combo(s)

A: My favorite color combos or colors that I seem to gravitate towards the most are Teals/blues & Yellows. I will actually be showcasing these color combos in the card I will be sharing with you all right now.

Are these not just the perfect colors for a baby theme!? I love this sweet stamp set, Little Peanut. I figured since I am only about 5 months away from having another little peanut of my own a baby card was right up my ally.

There are so many possibilities with this fun set: invitations, baby announcements, congratulations, etc.

Brianna’s Creative Process and Craft Space!

Hello everyone, Brianna here with you all for today’s post. I’ve got something a little bit different for you today. Why you ask? Well, today I am letting you get a look into my creative process, if you wanna call it that, I consider it more of an un-organized creative mess *grin* It gets the job done though and it works for me. I never really know what I am going to do when creating. I usually start with the stamp set I will be using, I then usually pick out my patter papers based on the theme of the stamp set. I like to color after I pick out my papers because I want my color combos to coordinate, I am kinda OCD like that. I don’t usually follow any type of sketch unless one is provided to me to follow along with, I just go with the flow and choose my layout as I am putting my card together. It’s the same concept with embellishments, once I get my card all done I will just start laying things out on my card that I feel I might want to use, If I like what I see then I will adhere it down. Here are a couple of photos I took along the way, while creating my latest card.

Stamp set used: Little Darling Jack

Here are a couple pictures showing how I mask my image to stamp some snowflakes.

Now that my images are all done and embossed, I can start my coloring. For today’s card, I used my Spectrum Noir markers.

This card was very simple and and the only embellishments, I used were: a button, ribbon and white twine.

I no longer have my own craft room. My three-year old moved out of his nursery ( my old craft room before he was born) into my newer craft room (bigger, better, more room/space, more toys) and I moved into the basement, also mine and the hubby’s sleeping quarters. Eventually we are going to have another child so we wanted to keep the nursery open for when that happens. The sacrifices we have to make! My peanut loves his new room and as long as he is happy, I am happy. I am still fortunate enough to have somewhat of my own space.

Here is a  picture of my craft corner/wall.
