DT Dare | Flowers | Comment to WIN!

Hello!

Welcome to our DT Dare!!! Not sure what the DT Dare is all about? It’s a fun monthly challenge for the YNS design team to showcase more fabulous projects using the new release products! PLUS if you leave a comment on this post you could WIN a YNS Stamp set of your choice!!!! Woot! Woot!

Have you seen all the AWESOME new stamps, dies and Gumdrops?! I just LOVE the Sticky Note frog set, the Happy Dance lizard set, the fun Pop Up Ninja die set, the rainbow dies and the new Waddles Rainbow Fun is super CUTE! OK I LOVE them ALL!!! Be sure to stop by the YNS Store and scoop up some new goodies for your collection!

The DT Dare challenge this month is FLORAL! Thanh posted this challenge in our DT forum and I think we all gave our computer screens that deer in a headlights look until she clarified things…she said “I’m thinking pretty FLOWERS like in the new Flower Ink Splatter stamp not old fashioned floral wallpaper!” lol

The DT and guests created some amazing Floral projects using the new release stamps, dies and gumdrops. Are you ready for some fabulous eye candy?! Let’s see what the DT created for their DT Dare challenge…

Design Team Q & A: Brianna

Hello everyone, Happy Monday! We are starting this week off with another Design Team series. We are continuing with the super fun question and answer segment, along with favorite color combos. I hope you are enjoying this series as you get to know each of us a little better.

Q1: Tell us about your family and where you live:

A: Hello, I’m Brianna. I live in a small town in Northern Minnesota. I live with my husband, who I have been married to for almost 6 years and our three year old son Jayden, with a second baby on the way, coming in August 2015. We also share our home with two fur babies, Dutchess and Shadow our little shih-tzus.

Q2: When did you join YNS?

A: I was first introduced to Your Next Stamp when Karen decided to have a digital design team in October 2013, which I was lucky enough to become apart of. I was apart of the digital team for a year, after that year, Karen decided to go back to her rubber roots. In October of 2014 I became a member of the rubber design team. I have been so blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of  both teams!

Q3: What are your favorite YNS images?

A: This is an almost impossible question to answer, as I love all of the images that YNS has to offer. If I had to choose, I would have to say I am really fond of the; Little Darling Characters, Dino-Mite , Gretchen and Owl and oh so many more 🙂

Q4: Your favorite color combo(s)

A: My favorite color combos or colors that I seem to gravitate towards the most are Teals/blues & Yellows. I will actually be showcasing these color combos in the card I will be sharing with you all right now.

Are these not just the perfect colors for a baby theme!? I love this sweet stamp set, Little Peanut. I figured since I am only about 5 months away from having another little peanut of my own a baby card was right up my ally.

Design Team Series – Laura’s Personal Design Process

Hello everyone!!
Our current Design Team Series is all about sharing our personal design process, and today is my turn!

Most of my creating is done for design team assignments, so I keep a calendar of all my deadlines pinned on the wall. I am also an obsessive list maker! I make a new to-do list every morning and stick it up on the side of my craft desk.

Here is a look at my desk. All of my basic crafting necessities are within arms reach. To the right of my desk, I have a closet where I store all of my cardstock and 6×6 paper pads.

 

I am usually working on several projects at once, so they key for me is staying organized. Everything has a place, and I tidy up as soon as I am done working on anything, even if it’s not completed!

I start with coloring an image… all the fun is in the coloring! Actually creating a card is the challenging part for me! I find it easier to choose papers prior to coloring, rather than trying to match papers after I’ve already colored something. I keep lists as I go of all the Copic colors I use, as well as papers and cardstocks that I intend to use on the card. I clip the colored image, papers, and list of supplies all together, and set them aside. I usually have several little bundles like this on a shelf by my desk, so I can just come back to creating the card later. At the point I’m ready to make the cards, my little kits are ready to go! This way, I can usually assemble several cards at once.

I’ve had this silly donkey from the Funny Farm Crew colored up for a couple of months. I knew I was going to use kraft cardstock with him, along with this greeting from Funny Farm Sentiments. So, I’ve had everything stamped, colored and clipped together just waiting to be used! My cards are typically pretty simple… I like for the colored images to really stand out. Here, I just popped the donkey up on the new Winter Fun Tag Die, and tied a bit of burlap string to the top.
