Tips and Tricks with Digis

Hi all!  I thought I’d share how I make my dotted backgrounds.  I think they are so fun and make images really pop.  I have only used copics for this technique.  First, I color my image.  I used Two Cute Rabbits and boy, are they!

Then I start with my lightest color and randomly add dots all around the image.  I purposely make them closer together around the edges of the image for shading.  I typically use complimentary colors for my dotted background, or something that will match the designer paper I use on my project.  I try not to be heavy-handed when making my dots but you’ll still get a few that are bigger than others and that’s ok!  Another thing I love about this technique is you really cannot mess it up!

Then I go to my medium shade.  I’ll make fewer dots as each marker gets darker.  Again, focusing on more immediately around the edges.

Then I use a third shade and add even fewer dots.  It’s more of an accent color.
Here are the Copics I used:
And here’s the finished card!
And a close up…  😉

Thanks for stopping by!  I sure hope you’ll give it a try!!!

Hugs,

Angel

Love the tutorial. I think I will pull my copics back out and start using them again.
