YNS Challenge #44 – Shape Cards

Hello! It’s time for YNS Challenge #44 – YAY! DT member Maureen is our talented hostess and she has challenged us to make a shape card – no squares allowed! I love making shape cards so this was a really fun challenge for me.

I decided to ink up the super adorable Franfou Design Fetch the Dog…isn’t he adorable? I’ve gotten a little more ‘daring’ when it comes to coloring…you’ll see that I added some grass which is something I’ve never been all that good at but I think it turned out pretty darn good this time *grin*.

The sentiment 4YOU is from the new Scenes Sentiment set which is such a great set for so many different occasions.

Be sure to stop by the YNS Challenge Blog to check out all the details and enter your shape card for your change to win some YNS stamps! YAY!

Happy Stamping!

June Guest Designer

Hello Friends!

It’s June and we are finally getting some nice sunshine and HOT weather! YAY! Hopefully the sun is shining for you as well.

I’m excited to introduce you to our fabulous and talented June YNS Guest Designer…Jen Roach! Welcome to YNS Jen! I was so excited when I stumbled upon Jen’s blog, she had entered a card into one of our YNS challenges and I instantly fell in love with her fun creating style.
Here’s a tid bit of info about Jen in her own words…
Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and 19 month old daughter. I’m a scientist by day and a paper crafter by night —or really just about any free time I have including my lunch breaks at work!!

I started out in paper crafting back in about 2002 when my Mom and I took a scrapbooking class together. A few years later I decided to give card making a try and it’s been my passion ever since. I’m the world’s slowest scrapbooker so the instant gratification of card making really won me over. Over the years I have used more and more stamping in my designs and I love learning and trying new techniques and styles.

I would probably define myself as a “scrappy stamper”. I *LOVE* patterned paper and most of my cards have lots of it with added layered on embellishments and textures. My cards may not be easy to mail but boy are they pretty!!

Other than crafting, I love to play tennis as you can probably tell from my blog address: http://tennisgirl27.blogspot.com/

I’m thrilled to be the guest designer this month for Your Next Stamp and I look forward to sharing my creations with you.

Check out this super cute card Jen made featuring the adorable stamp Birthday Surprise Fhiona

Please be sure to pop by Jen’s blog and give her warm welcome into the YNS family!

Hoppy Easter!

Hi everybody! It’s Maureen and from now on I’ll be posting here on the YNS Blog on the Sundays after the new challenge is posted. Here’s my card for today:

FhionaEasterBunny3
Since it’s almost Easter, I decided to use Easter Bunny Fhiona, this time actually leaving her as a bunny. But I did have to have some fun, so I made her dressed as a chocolate bunny!

I stamped Fhiona on a white cardstock circle and colored her face and basket with Copics and colored pencils/odorless mineral spirits. Then I paper pieced the bunny outfit on some (fittingly) Bo Bunny patterned paper and cut the pieces out, gluing them over the stamped image. BTW, the outfit was shaded with colored pencils and OMS also.

Finally I added a sentiment that comes with Fhiona and a couple little heart eggs from the Hoppy Easter Accessories set.

Just a quick reminder of a couple challenges going on:

I hope you like my card and will play along with either or both challenges! ~Maureen

Flower Bouquet 4u

Hi everybody! It’s Maureen here and I wanted to share a card I made:

FhionaFlowerBouquet2
I used Flower Bouquet Fhiona and some REALLY old papers from Heidi Grace. Fhi’s headband and dress were paper pieced and the rest was colored with Copics (yes, even those really thin and tiny bits in the bouquet – just go really slowly and carefully!) and cut out with a Nesties die. The “4u” was cut with Quickutz dies and I did the lattice scoring on the background with my Martha score board.

Just a quick reminder that our new challenge just started – “Make It Sparkle”. We hope you’ll play along with us!

YNSC37 and World Kids

Hey everyone!

Just popping by to let you know that the brand new YNS Challenge #37 has been posted today and our challenge this fortnight is the colour challenge of BLUE. So we want to see a little or a lot of this fab colour on your challenge entries!

You don’t have to use a YNS stamp on your challenge creation to enter our prize draw, but of course it would be wonderful if you do! If you do enter a new YNS creation, you will be entered twice into the prize draw and then also entered into our Top Pick contest – that’s three chances to win from one entry, pretty cool don’t you think? [If you don’t use a YNS stamp, please note that you can only enter one card per challenge – thanks!]

I thought I would spotlight part of our newest release today – YNS World Kids Collection.

Here’s my challenge card for today using the adorable Asha from India:

And here is new DT member Dana’s challenge card using the cute Boris from Russia. Don’t you just love his paper-pieced hat?

There are 9 World Kids stamp sets (…so far *wink*) so be sure to hop on over to the YNS store and check them all out.

Whilst you’re there, why not have a wee look at the Inventory Blow Out Sale section, where Karen has listed selected stamp/stamp sets at 35% off!   But wait … that’s not all!  Be sure to hop on over to the Clearance section where you can find selected cling-mounted stamps at 50% off, selected bare rubber stamps at 60% off, selected embellishments at 35% off and a few 4.5×6.5″ sampler designer paper packs at 35% off!  WOW! What a great time to snag a bargain … or two…or three, LOL!

We also have a BRAND NEW and exciting product that has just been added to the site … YNS Glittered Skittles.  That’s right, Your Next Stamp now has its very own YNS Embellies! Glittered Skittles are fun embellishments with a dash of glitter perfect for cards and scrapbook pages. You can easily adhere them with glossy accents, and they come in a variety of colours and in 2 sizes (4mm and 3mm).  Here’s a picture of the yummy variety pack called “Fruit Salad”, but you can also buy them in single colour packs.  CLICK HERE to view the complete range.
