Sylvie’s Fave

Our guest Sylvie @Kaliscards is sharing one of her faves today…any guesses as to what she might have picked to share?

Hi everybody.

Today I’m back on the blog to share with you a card using my favorite technique, masking. I like masking for a variety of reasons. The technique itself is fun: the fussy cutting of the masking paper is somewhat relaxing and there is also something fascinating about unmasking and revealing the stamping.

What I like the most about masking is the endless possibilities that it gives you in using your stamps. You can mix and match different stamp sets to create unique scenes and give depth to your cards. It it also allows you to stretch the use of your stamps by doing partial stamping.

In this example, masking has allowed me to transform the Toy shop stamp into a Coffee shop! And to complete the transformation, I used elements of the Coffee cart stamp set. The cat from the Coffee… Right Meow! stamp set is just adorable in front of this closed coffee shop.

Are you ready to give masking a try?

Happy Stamping!
