The theme this week is Merry and Bright and since I’ve been busy making some fun yet simple cards for my craft fundraiser this weekend I decided to share this bright and fun Christmas card with you today! I’ve used the YNS Christmas Balls stamp set. I love this set and I really like how my card turned out with the bright colours and the sparkly card stock 🙂

Sorry I haven’t been around much this week. I’ve finally started feeling better and then I was busy getting ready for a craft fund raiser I’m participating in next weekend and of then I had to get ready for the exciting new release this Monday! YAY!

What an exciting day!
Today is YNS Challenge #3 – Christmas with a twist by Simonne! You are not allowed to use any red or green on your Christmas card or creation – how fun!
Also I’ve decided to launch some really fun and cute Christmas digital stamps! Everyone loved the Halloween limited edition digi’s by Fhiona so she was kind enough to create some Christmas limited edition Digital Stamps for us which will be available until Dec 31st 2009 – thanks Fhiona!!!! I’ve used the digital stamp Decorated Christmas Tree for my challenge card today along with MME Colorful Christmas designer paper and some of my favorite pearls by Prima Marketing.

I hope you all had a Happy Halloween! Even though I am fighting a flu bug my son managed to make me laugh on Halloween with all his quirky little gestures. At first he wanted nothing to do with his monkey costume and then later on in the day he brought it to me and wanted me to help him put it on – that was so cute! Then as the door bell started ringing he realized all the other kids were dressed up and he wanted to hand out the candy so him and daddy handed out candy and then went to visit a few friends in the neighbourhood. The best part was on Sunday night when it got dark he wanted to put his costume on again and then he ran to the door waiting for all the kids and when no one came trick or treating he decided it was time to play with all the left over candy we had – what great fun it is to transfer candy from a bowl to a bag over and over again! The simple things in life are always the best things!

The card posted today is the card I made for my card mingle buddy Cabio! I didn’t get a chance to take a picture before mailing it so she was kind enough to send me a picture so I could share it with all of you – thanks Cabio!

Well Chris, myself and 8 of our friends survived the Miami heat and had a fabulous time! We are now back in the cool Ontario weather and I’m ok with that because even though I had a ton of fun I missed my son and all my craft stuff! It’s good to be home 🙂
We had a really fun evening out in South Beach, shopped at the Aventura Mall – it’s HUGE, enjoyed lots of beach time along with a Miami Dolphins football game!
As promised I have a few pictures to share with you and hope to have some more once our friends share theirs with us.

The sketch was a ton of fun to work with and after playing with different options I decided to make mine into a birthday bag since today is my 33rd birthday!!!
I’ve used the adorable little giraffe from the Wild About You stamp set and the background star image is from the Birthday Boy stamp set. I stamped it in a very pale pink so it’s hard to see in the picture but you should be able to click on the picture to make it bigger so you can see it better. I couldn’t wait to put on some of that pink jungle satin ribbon that I bought awhile back and just knew I would have the perfect use for it one day! All the edges are distressed as well and then I added some pink pearls to finish it off. I was in a total pink mood and I love the way it turned out!
I hope you choose to join in all the fun challenges! I really find they inspire me to step out of my creative comfort zone and I’m always amazed with the different creations I come up with from all the great inspiration!
I’m enjoying some birthday vacation time right now in Miami Beach so check back for some fun pictures soon!

They have such cute little ceramic houses! I looked through the shop and I was totally inspired by this little blue and brown house which they call a choco-berry house to brighten your day – too cute!!!
Here is my card I made with all my choco-berry inspiration…
I used Home Sweet Home and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the HB mermaid set along with some yummy chocolate satin ribbon and pearls along the bottom. I was so pleased with how my little blue home turned out!
