First time for everything…

Happy Thursday!

I tried something new! YAY! I’ve had a sheet of acetate forever and I finally used it to make a Holiday card! I went with earthy tones rather than the traditional white/red/green and I quite like the way it turned out.

(Click the photo for a closer look)

I stamped the Spread the Cheer stamp with a Kaleidacolor ink pad onto vanilla card stock, I love the multi color effect these ink pads create. The background snowflakes are from the snowflake border stamp, I stamped the snowflakes with brown Staz On directly onto the sheet of acetate. I hope you give it try, it’s a fun and easy project!

Have a wonderful day!

Holiday Tag

I hope everyone is having a great week! Brandon and I went to the store this afternoon to pick up a few things and I couldn’t believe my eyes…all the Christmas/Holiday displays were already up! I shouldn’t be surprised but every year I’m shocked at how fast they move from Halloween to Christmas around here…where did October go? This year is just flying by and I thought I’d better start making some Holiday crafts so I have a cute little tag to share with you today that I made using Fhiona’s Snowman

I stamped the snowman with Staz On onto water color paper and I colored this adorable snowman with Twinkling h20’s. The pearl set is perfect for winter scenes, I used the oyster for the snowman’s body and then added some of the colored twinkling’s for the accents…red, green, pewter, nutmeg and orange.
The Happy Holidays sentiment is from the Penguin Greetings stamp set. The DP is from the Cottage Christmas 6×6 pad and just in case you are wondering…the nestie I used is the new wonky squares – fun!
I hope you are having fun creating all your holiday cards and projects too!
Until next time…

Trick or Treat

We had a total blast this Halloween! Brandon is such a little cutie, we went to just a few houses around each of the Grandparents neighbourhoods and he just ran from house to house saying “next house, more candy” it was so cute! I think he would have kept going all night if we would have let him.
Here are just a few photos from our trick or treating adventure…
Brandon our little cutie as a Giraffe
First Trick or Treat House
He did say Thank you before running away!
He just had to look to see what they put in the bag! Once he realized it was candy it was go, go, go!
I hope you had a great Halloween too!
I’ll be back soon with a fun gift tag I made so until then…

Happy Halloween

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Brandon already had his adorable giraffe costume on yesterday for a special Halloween parade and I think he’s eaten enough candy to last him the entire year! He’s excited to put on his costume again Sunday evening to collect more candy…I call him my little sugar monster! I’ll have some pictures to share next week of him…he makes a really cute giraffe.

I made this Cute Witch Ellie card to celebrate Halloween. I decided to have some fun with it and colored the image with my favorite Twinkling H2O’s – I LOVE these sparkly paints! I stamped Ellie with Staz On onto watercolor paper and then colored the entire image with H2O’s using my water pen. The sentiment is from the Monster Sign stamp set and then the inside of the card has Ellie’s kitty and the sentiment is from the Trick or Treat stamp set.

Here’s a shot of the sparkle before I finished the card, I have a hard time capturing sparkle in photos…feel free to click on the photos to enlarge them…

and here is the front of the card…

and the inside of the card…

I hope you have a safe and happy Halloween!

YNS Challenge #28 – Bookmark it!

Happy Wednesday!

It’s time for YNS Challenge #28 – YIPPEE! Chris is our super talented hostess for this challenge and she has challenged us to make bookmarks – FUN!

I picked up these huge paper clips at the office store awhile back and I’ve been wanting to make a bookmark so I was quite excited to finally make one!

I stamped Mini Party Fhiona with Brilliance Black ink onto Copic Xpress It paper and then colored her in with copics. Then I used all different punches for the scallop and circles…I love that I can use a craft punch for the mini Fhiona stamps!

The book I’m reading is Eat, Pray, Love…again! I can’t wait to see the movie!
The back is the same dp (Basic Grey Jovial) as the front. I used a large glue dot to attach the front and back layers.

I LOVE the mini stamps so for those of you who are also fans of the mini Fhiona stamps…look for more to be released very soon!!! *grin* I’m so excited!!

Now hop on over to the YNS challenge blog for all the details and enter your bookmark for a chance to win some YNS bucks!!! YAY!
