YNS Sponsoring Wee Memories

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Wendy here with you today.
I’m thrilled to be guest designing on behalf of Your Next Stamp who is sponsoring Wee Memories for their current Scrappy Saturday Challenge
~ All Things Adorable ~
I’ve used a fun YNS favorite of mine, You’re So Cool butterfly as my “adorable” image.  He or she (who can tell, LOL) is so much fun to color.  This time I decided to try something new by coloring the wings using a feathering technique.  Feathering is when you use  two contracting colors and working from opposite ends of the object and blend them together with soft “feather” blending.  I used V12, V000, YG23, & YG01.  After adding the sparkle to the wings, it’s a little hard to see what a beautiful technique this really is.  But I promise you that there are no “lines” and it’s a seamless transition between the colors.

I’ve used today’s The Sweet Stop Sketch (SSS104) for my layout design which gave me fits…I don’t “do” tilted panels very well.  LOL!!   Glossy Accents were applied to the sunglasses and glass of pink lemonade (that’s what I decided he was drinking  ๐Ÿ™‚  And the sparkle treatment on the wings is a combination of Shimmerz Pixie Dust and Stickles Star Dust…mixed together and painted on.  I find that it gives a very light and sheer sparkle.  You have to “catch the light” to see the sparkle otherwise it just appears as normal.  Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that I have finally tried the White Cryogen paper (the paper has a iridescence sheen) with this image and I LOVE it!!  ๐Ÿ™‚
Be sure to check out Wee Memories Challenge this week and link up your own “Adorable” project.
Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Blessings

Hey everyone!  You’re getting a two for one special today:)  Diana already posted a super cute Easter card, so make sure you scroll down to see her fabulous project!
I was able to play along with this week’s Sketch Challenge #328 on Splitcoast Stampers, and this is what I came up with.  I used this DARLING chick from the set Fluffy Chick and some dp from Echo Park Paper Co. Springtime.  It’s a pretty simple card, but it took me a couple cuts to get those panels right LOL!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Make sure you check back tomorrow because Wendy has a super adorable card to share, plus YNS is sponsoring a fun challenge this week!  Thanks for stopping by:)

Bunny Love

Hello all!

It’s Diana here taking over for today — Happy TGIF!!!. I really look forward to my my TGIF posts here at YNS.  I have a card I created this past week that I wanted to share with you all. My card was created using Easter Bunny Fhiona.

I used SC327 for my Sketch.   This Bunny Fhiona is adorbale and I have to say she is one of my favorites of all.

The sentiment is from Fhiona’s Easter Basket.  My most favorite thing about YNS sets is they are so versatile and you can interchange them, as I did above.

Also, we currently have a Challenge going on for this week over at the YNS Challenge blog. We would love it if you would come and join in on the fun with us. We have an awesome prize for the winner as well!

Thanks for coming to visit us today and please have a wonderful weekend.

We will miss you Simonne

I would like to dedicate this post to my wonderful friend Simonne. She has been with YNS from the beginning and not only has she produced some stunning YNS creations, blinkies and beautiful blogger backgrounds but she has also been a dear friend and a wonderful support these past few years. She is currently going through some personal issues and her family needs her right now so unfortunately she needs to take a break from some of her DT commitments. She has kept me organized all these years and brought us so many fun blog hops – thank you for everything Sem!

Here are just a few of her amazing YNS creations…

Simonne we will all miss you here at YNS and we wish you all the best!

Lots of love and hugs

YNS Challenge #40 – Texture

Good Morning!

It’s time for another YNS Challenge! YAY! Chris is our fabulous hostess for YNS Challenge #40 and she has challenged us to use texture on our cards/projects.

I decided to make a thank you card using the stamp set Flower Garden and the sentiment from the Tall Grass and Greetings set. My cardstock is textured and I used the no mess glitter paper for the flower center which has a bumpy texture as well. I also had to sneak in a few of my favorite sparkly embellies…YNS Glittered Skittles and some Swarovski Crystals.

Join in all the fun over at the YNS Challenge Blog for your chance to win a YNS stamp! Hop on over and check out all the details.

Happy Stamping!

Pocket Tag Tutorial and A New Stamp Set!!!

Don’t you LOVE this new stamp set!!!  I just adore this sentiment and it’s so true LOL!  This new set is called A Good Friend, and it is available TODAY at the Your Next Stamp Store!!!
This weekend Karen will be at ScrapFest with all of the wonderful stamps from Your Next Stamp!  This is one of the Make and Takes that she will have at her booth~so FUN!  I have a simple tutorial to show you how to make one of these these yourself, just in case you can’t make it to ScrapFest:)  I saw this tutorial first HERE, but I changed the measurements around a little bit.
To make the base, you need two pieces of cardstock.  One cut at 5″x5″ and the other at 3″x6″:
Score the 5″x5″ piece at 1/2″ and 1″ on 3 of the 4 sides:
Cut out the sections shown below:
Fold it up to make your box:
Add adhesive (I’m a glue girl:)
Attach to the 3″x6″ piece:
Decorate!
I used some Echo Park Paper For the Record dp and the little bag and sentiment both come from the A Good Friend Set!  There are also 2 other bags this size, and 3 smaller bags that would be so cute on a tag or to stamp a little bag border~oh, I need to try that!:)
Thank you so much for stopping by, and make sure you come back tomorrow for the Your Next Stamp ScrapFest Blog Hop!!!  We have two VERY SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION STAMPS that you will not want to miss out on!  You only have three days to snatch them up!  Have a wonderful day:)

Happy Easter/ YNS Challenge reminder

Hi all!  It is Chris here.  I am just popping in to remind you of this week’s YNS challenge and to share a card I created using an Easter image!!

This week’s Your Next Stamp challenge  hostess is the sweet and talented, Beth, and she has challenged us to use faux or real stitching on our creations.
Here is my creation for this challenge using the Easter Egg Tree image from Your Next Stamp.  The image is colored in copics.  The shape of the card uses the Labels 10 Spellbinders die.  The background is embossed with the Spots folder from Provocraft.  The button is from Recollections. The ribbbon is May Arts Silk ribbon tied with the bow easy.  I added sparkle to the frame which is hard to see in this photo, but if you click on it, you can see it much better.

If you should decide to join the YNS challenge this week, just link your creation here.
Thanks for stopping by!
