June Guest Designer

Hello Friends!

It’s June and we are finally getting some nice sunshine and HOT weather! YAY! Hopefully the sun is shining for you as well.

I’m excited to introduce you to our fabulous and talented June YNS Guest Designer…Jen Roach! Welcome to YNS Jen! I was so excited when I stumbled upon Jen’s blog, she had entered a card into one of our YNS challenges and I instantly fell in love with her fun creating style.
Here’s a tid bit of info about Jen in her own words…
Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and 19 month old daughter. I’m a scientist by day and a paper crafter by night —or really just about any free time I have including my lunch breaks at work!!

I started out in paper crafting back in about 2002 when my Mom and I took a scrapbooking class together. A few years later I decided to give card making a try and it’s been my passion ever since. I’m the world’s slowest scrapbooker so the instant gratification of card making really won me over. Over the years I have used more and more stamping in my designs and I love learning and trying new techniques and styles.

I would probably define myself as a “scrappy stamper”. I *LOVE* patterned paper and most of my cards have lots of it with added layered on embellishments and textures. My cards may not be easy to mail but boy are they pretty!!

Other than crafting, I love to play tennis as you can probably tell from my blog address: http://tennisgirl27.blogspot.com/

I’m thrilled to be the guest designer this month for Your Next Stamp and I look forward to sharing my creations with you.

Check out this super cute card Jen made featuring the adorable stamp Birthday Surprise Fhiona

Please be sure to pop by Jen’s blog and give her warm welcome into the YNS family!

Happy Stamping!

A Day to Remember…

Hello and Happy Monday!
This is Beth and I would first off like to take a few moments
to remember those who gave there lives
in battle throughout the century.
I feel it’s equally fitting to give my most humble
gratitude to those who continue to serve…
I decided for my project today I would move
away from a card. I found a template for the
2-5-7-10 Box at SpilitcoastStampers,
it was really easy to create!
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the week!

May Hop Winners

Thank you for joining us for our May New Release Blog Hop! The DT did an awesome job showcasing all the fabulous new stamps – thanks ladies!

Today I’ve got our 3 hop winners to announce plus I wanted to share a card I made for my Dad for Father’s Day using the new Scene Sentiments set. I LOVE this set – it’s got a wonderful variety of sentiments that you can use for so many occasions.

My Dad is an amazing man who loves fishing so with that in mind this is what I created…

I wanted to go for a rustic look and even though this is not my usual card style and there’s not much stamping involved in making this card I had a lot of fun distressing and creating this card for my dad.

Just in case you are wondering…the DP is the Reel Me Paper Sampler and buttons are the natural wooden buttons which I rubbed in distressed ink to make them match the rustic theme and then hand sewed them onto the DP. The embossing folder I used is the Tim Holtz Retro Circles and the tag was created using the Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplate set.

Now let’s announce some hop winners! YAY!

All winners have been picked by random number generator and we had 2 secret prize hop blogs for May so here are our 3 May Hop Winners…

May Hop Winner from YNS Blog – Joan V. (#1 was lucky this time Joan!)
Secret Blog #1 was Kerri and her winner is Mrs. Ham
Secret Blog #2 was Dana and her winner is Laura
Congrats ladies! Please email me to claim your prize karen@yournextstamp.com

Before I sign off for the day I just wanted to say HI to everyone from the Copic Certification class I attended in Toronto yesterday! I had a blast and Sherrie the instructor was so wonderful!

Happy Stamping!
