YNS Challenge #51 – Paper Piecing!!!

Hi everyone!

Karen here and I’m your hostess again this week! YAY! Welcome to our NEW Challenge location!!! Yep, if you haven’t noticed already all of our YNS Challenges will be hosted right here on the YNS blog from now on!!! Why? Well, I’ve decided to change things up a bit and it just made more sense to have everything here at the YNS blog rather than in 2 separate locations.

What’s New? The rules and they’re really easy to follow…

  1. You must use a YNS Rubber or Digi Stamp to play along
  2. You may enter as many times as you like
  3. You are welcome to combine your entry with other challenges
  4. Have FUN! We want to see your awesome YNS creations!!!

To make this transition really easy for everyone I’ve decided to bring back the YNS Special Edition Digi Stamps!!! You can check them all out HERE! I don’t have plans of becoming a ‘digi stamp store’ anytime soon, I just thought it would be fun to bring these back for the remainder of 2011. Enjoy!

You will always be able to find the link to the current challenge on the side bar OR along the top menu bar on this blog. Just click the current challenge link and it will take you to the post so you can enter your fabulous YNS challenge creations.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns about the challenge changes. I’m excited about these changes and I hope you are too!!!

Thank you so much for all your amazing entries into YNSC50 – Song Inspiration! WOW! They were really super awesome! I’ll be back this Friday to post our challenge #50 winners.

Now let’s talk about YNS Challenge #51 – PAPER PIECING! We want you to use paper piecing somewhere on your YNS card or project – FUN! If you’ve never tried it now is the time to give it a shot! I think paper piecing really adds a little somethin’ somethin’ to your cards and projects!

One more peeky before the big day!

WOW! What an awesome weekend! I know it’s Tuesday but I had such a crazy weekend that I needed Monday to recovery (oh, I think I’m getting old – LOL) plus I needed some extra special play time with my son Brandon who stayed at Grandmas all weekend long.

I had so much FUN hanging out and stamping with everyone at One Crazy Stamper on Saturday morning and at the Scrapping Turtle on Sunday afternoon! Thank you to everyone who came out to play and shop! I know I promised to share my little ‘secret’ that I revealed at the stores this weekend but the ‘secret’ item sold out so I’ll announce it next week once I get more in *grin* It’s worth the wait!!!!

Tomorrow is RELEASE DAY – YIPPEE!!! I’ve got lots of super CUTE stamps for you and I thought you might like one more little peeky before the big day…check out this adorable little wizard…

It’s time for another September Sneak Peek!

Well starting bright and early tomorrow morning I’m in for a busy yet exciting and fun weekend!

First stop is One Crazy Stamper Inc. – Bolton, Ontario – I’ll be there from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm so I hope you stop by to join in all the fun and shopping!

Then I’m heading home to attend a friends wedding, Chris is the best man and I’m excited to apart of this special day!

Sunday morning I’m heading to St. Jacobs to The Scrapping Turtle for some more fun and excitement. I’ll be arriving at 11:30 am and I’ll be there all afternoon so I hope you stop by for lots of fun and shopping!

Then I’ll head on home, give my son a squeeze and I think I’ll be ready for a long nap! LOL

Ok so before I start my weekend of fun and adventure let me show you another 2 peeks at the SUPER CUTE September release!!! YAY!

Ni Hao

Ni Hao = Hello or Hi 🙂
Hi, it’s Wendy here with you today.  I hope those of you in the States are enjoying your long Labor Day weekend!!
I wanted to share with you today a card that I’ve had running around in my head for the last few months now. My little ones use to watch Ni Hao, Kai Lan which is kind of a Chinese version of Dora the Explorer but she teaches children how to speak Chinese.  The first time the kids saw this adorable Your Next Stamp image, Miya from China they immediately thought it was Kai Lan so I just had to make this card.  🙂
I found this sweet lantern DP from American Crafts (Hello Sunshine) at a local art supply store and snatched it from the shelf like it was the last one on earth.  LOL  I mean come on…could it BE more perfect?!?  And it’s a little hard to tell from the photo but I embossed the blue cardstock with a Floral Screen embossing folder which has a bit of an Asian look to it.  A little bit of machine stitching on the paper panels, cute white ruffled ribbon, pearls, and Stardust Stickles on her outfit were the only embellishments needed for this simple but sweet sketch I used from this weeks The Sweet Stop.

Amy and Jenny are in da house!

Since we are all in song mode here at YNS with the current Song Inspiration Challenge I thought it would be FUN to welcome our 2 new FABULOUS Design Team members with a little jingle…just pretend the big blue house is YNS!!! LOL

Amy Rohl 
My name is Amy Rohl, and I’m so excited to be a part of the YNS Design Team! I adore the sweet images and look forward to lots of stamping fun. My stamping obsession began about 10 years ago and continued to grow as started participating in weekly challenges at Splitcoaststampers where I was lucky enough to serve on the Dirty Dozen Design Team, meeting so many great stamping friends from all over the world! I currently live in Ellsworth, WI with my husband and three wonderful kids, Kendra (18), Hank (16) and George (3) and work as a speech/language pathologist for a school district and thoroughly enjoy having “summer vacation”, which equates to more stamping time! I hope you enjoy my work with YNS!
Jenny Peterson
Hi there! My name is Jenny Peterson and I am hopelessly addicted to stamping! I have been scrapbooking since I had my first child, seven years ago. I don’t do it a whole lot though, as I find it quite time consuming and I never know when to quit! I started stamping about 3 years ago and I like that I can have quick results with a card. I have three little boys, ages 2, 5 and 7. I am married to my high school sweetheart and he hates all things stampy (he has a jealousy complex I think;). I am a Registered Nurse and teach nursing part time at a nearby college. I live with my family in the country in central Alberta, Canada. I love being creative and am a just kid in art class at heart:) I have had the privilege to design and guest design for some great companies and I am super excited to be designing for Your Next Stamp!

YNS Challenge #50 – Song Inspiration

It’s time for another super FUN YNS Challenge! YIPPEE!!! I’m your hostess again for YNSC50 and I’m asking you to pick a song for your inspiration! You can pick any song you like just be sure to tell us what song inspired you to create your project and better yet why not include a YouTube video in your post as well – this is not a requirement but it sure would be entertaining! I know the YNS DT have put together some really fun post so be sure to check them all out and show them some YNS love!

September Guest Designer

WOW! Seriously where did August go??? I really can’t believe it’s nearly September…I know I say this every month but really August just swooshed on by way to fast!

Before I introduce our fabulous September guest designer I’d like to say thank you to our August guest Julie for sharing all her fabulous YNS creations with us! It was a delight getting to know Julie and I can’t wait for you to see her super cute project she made for YNS Challenge #50 this Wednesday!

Please give a warm YNS welcome to Ashley!!! I had the pleasure of meeting Ashley at the Winter CHA Show this past January, she is such a sweet and wonderful person so I am delighted to have her join the YNS family and look forward to seeing all her fabulous YNS projects!

Here is an adorable card she made featuring Miya from China and little bit about Ashley in her own words…

My name is Ashley N Newell and I’ve been stamping for just over 4 years now. I have an awesome husband and 2 adorable children (Brady age 4 and Parker age 2.) I work for Whisker Graphics as their Social Media and Design Team Coordinator. I also write articles for Through the Craftroom Door Magazine. I thoroughly love designing and sharing projects with people and hope to do this for the rest of my life. Creating is my passion as well as my outlet and I’m so blessed to have found it!



I’m so excited to be designing for Your Next Stamp this month! I’ve loved the designs since the very beginning and am thrilled to be able to be a part of such a talented team for this month!
