Design Team Series – Anita’s Personal Design Process

Good morning everyone!  We have a new Design Team Series on the blog on Mondays.  Each design team member is sharing their personal design process and today is my turn.

Here’s a picture of the desk where I do most of my coloring.  It’s usually a mess but I did clean it up before I took the photo 🙂  I actually have a large room for my crafting but I’m in the process of purging and reorganizing and it’s a total mess.  Right now it looks like a bomb went off in that room so there’s no way I’m sharing a picture of it today!

I have a notebook that I keep all my design team assignments in.  I start my process by stamping the image and putting it in one of the clear file pockets in my notebook.  Next, I choose my designer paper and add it to the pocket with the image.  I always choose my designer paper before I color, otherwise I seem to have a really hard time matching up dp to my colored image.  If the assignment includes a sketch then I add that to the pocket.  Otherwise, I try to find a sketch that I like and put that with the image and dp.  The file pocket above has the image, dp, and sketch and/or color challenge for this Friday.  So when I’m ready to work on this card I just take the clear file to my coloring desk and I’m all set!  My favorite part of cardmaking is the coloring so I will usually color several images before I start assembling my cards.

Here are a couple of cards I made using the fabulous October release:

Be sure to stop back next Monday because Laura will be sharing her design process with us.  Thanks for stopping by!
