Christmas in July

Today, guest Kim Taylor has some holiday inspiration for you using the You Lift Me Up Set which is still in stock, so grab it before it is gone.

From Kim:

It’s July so that means it’s time to start making Christmas cards!!

For these two sweet cards I used a combination of You Lift Me Up Set, Magical Holiday Moments (out of stock) and the Holiday Joy 6×6 Paper Pad

I stamped the images with Versafine Black Onyx on Canson XL Watercolour paper and then heat set them with clear embossing powder.  I used Distress Inks to watercolour the images adding some extra sparkle with gel pens for accents.   The papers from the Holiday Joy 6×6 Paper Pad go perfectly with these sets! For the card with the Green and Gold theme I stacked up several layers of the die by cutting my ‘scraps’ of white cardstock and gluing them together.  The top layer is Hammermill 80lb smooth white. I used a fun stitched sentiment die set and stamped on it in a coordinating green dye ink. For the Blue and White set I made a mini shaker with the globe die by stacking extra layers of scrap cardstock and adding some acetate under the top layer after putting some chunky glitter in to add some shine and festive fun!

I hope you find some inspiration in my cards today and are motivated to start thinking about making some Christmas cards of your own!

Happy creating!

Books, Books, and More Books

Today, guest Kim Taylor has a birthday card for a book lover!

From Kim:

This card is made with the Silly Book Monster stamp and die set, the Silly Fun Birthday and the Mini Slimline Stitched Panel Dies.  I used some patterned paper that made me think of wallpaper and set the images on that then matted it on a black mat to make the colours pop.

The images are coloured with Ohuhu’s alcohol markers and the cute monster is popped up with some YNS Pop Dots.

Silly Bookmarks

Guest Kim Taylor

From Kim:

I love bookmarks as a little extra something to tuck into gifts or just as a fun thinking of you.   As an avid I reader I’m all about encouraging people to pick up a book!

For these two I used the Silly Book Monster Stamp and die set and the Bookmark/Tag die set.  The Bubbles stencil was used for the background and the images were coloured with Ohuhu’s alcohol markers.   I also used a laminator and laminating sheets to seal it all up!

Thank You

ALL YNS PRODUCTS ARE RETIRING!!!

Thank you for 14 AMAZING and FUN Years!!!

This might be the hardest decision I’ve ever made. The time has come for me to say goodbye to one of the most exciting and FUN 15 years of my life. Your Next Stamp was just a dream 15 years ago…I had this crazy idea to start a stamp company after attending a card making party and 1 year later, August 7 2009, I launched my web store filled with hope and excitement. I met so many wonderful friends and created lifelong memories in the 14 years of running this business. It all started with hand cut rubber stamps which led to creating adorable and funny clear stamp sets and eventually offering dies, enamel dots (aka Gumdrops), paper pads, ink pads, stencils, die cutters and pop up dots! I really can’t thank all of you enough for all the love and support I’ve received over the years. YNS not only brought joy into my life it also allowed me to stay home with my kids and helped support my family. I am so grateful and blessed for everything I have learned and all the people who touched my heart and soul.

Be sure to browse the YNS Store and check out The Outlet section of the online store and grab a deal and/or a must have product before it’s gone forever!

All the products in the YNS Store are retiring and will not be restocked.

FYI – I will be personally hand packaging all the final orders so to fill orders faster and due to the discounted pricing not all YNS products will be packaged with a backer card and bag. If you want the packaging please leave me a note on your order and I will provide packaging while quantities last.

Sprinkles and Bubbles

Guest Kim Taylor brought Sprinkles back for this card – Sprinkles the bunny!

From Kim:

I just adore this little bunny so I had to make another card with the Sprinkles Coffee & Tea stamp set

I used the YNS Bubbles Stencil with some Jade Vine Paper Glaze and kept the look fairly monochromatic by using similar shades of Ohuhu alcohol markers for the tea cup.  I fussy cut the image and used YNS Pop Dots for some dimension to help it stand out.  The sentiment is from the same set and done in black to tie in the matting and make the teal shades pop!  This is as close to clean and simple as I get!   I love that you can take one really cute image and make it the focal point of the card.

A Little Magic

Guest Kim Taylor has 2 cards for today, both using the Magical Wishing Wells stamp and die sets.

From Kim:

For these cards I wanted the fun of making a wish to come through in the bright happy rainbow colours!  I used the Magical Wishing Wells stamp and die set for the images and sentiments.

For the landscape card I did a relaxed watercolour technique with some liquid watercolours from Hero Arts. The images were painted with Tombow markers and given dimension with YNS Pop Dots. A little extra sparkle was added with some YNS Gumdrops

The mini slimline was made with some Distress Oxides and some ink blending with a stencil. The main image is also from the Wishing Wells set and painted with watercolour markers and added to the card with more YNS Pop Dots.  I also stamped the ‘wishing’ with black pigment ink and heat set with clear embossing powder.  I love that this sentiment has a die cut!

I have to add that one of my fav things about YNS other than they are also Canadian, is the wonderful artwork of their stamps and the fact that their dies are so well designed! When you look at the wishing wells you can see how it cut around the inner details and not just the outside! A small thing perhaps but for me it’s a very much appreciated one!
I hope you find inspiration in these cards and try to create a little wishing well magic of your own!
