Welcome October Guest Faye Wynn-Jones

Happy October!

We are excited to announce that Faye Wynn-Jones is joining us this month as our guest designer.   Faye took part in a YNS release hop earlier this year, but we get her all month long in October.  That means you better get ready for clean and simple cards featuring amazing coloring.

I’m Faye, and I’m addicted to Copics (and choklit). Wife, Mum, Self-Confessed, Obsessive Colourist, and E-mail/ Facebook/ Blog Stalker. How do I fit all that into a day? Simples. I run on Fairy Dust. Yep, sense of humour features in there too. When I’m not doing any, or all of the above, (and sometimes when I am doing them) you’ll more than likely find me day dreaming.
I’m a Copic Regional Instructor for the UK, and plan on working towards becoming a European Copic Colouring Master. My style is very clean and simple. Why clean and simple? I like to give the image space to be the image. You’ll find I doodle a lot too. In fact, people often recognise me for it.

So, to recap. Faye. Regional Copic Instructor. Obsessive choklit munching doodler. Impatient daydreamer with wacky sense of humour. Belongs to Very Understanding Hubby and Child. Often spotted lurking near biscuit barrel, Copic in one hand, some form of electronic gadget in the other…

The Top Pick for Challenge #23 is a CUTE card by KT Fit Kitty!  KT combined the colors from the challenge and the stamp set  Sprinkles – Coffee and Tea.   With the stamped coffee bean background, bit of sparkle from the sequins, and Sprinkles popped up at the bottom with a couple leaves, KT has captured the essence of fall in her card.ktfit kitty

I Spy YNS Saturday – A Baby Bunny

This week we have a sweet baby card to share with you!

While out and about we spied this adorable card by Martha Tucker.   Oh my cuteness!   Martha does a great job balancing all the white with the touches of blue and silver.  The bunny is colored up beautifully and the dots of white add whimsy.

Sketch and Color Challenge #24

Hello Everyone!   Have you been waiting for our new challenge to start?   Well, the wait is over! Challenge #24 starts today and we have a new sketch and a new color combo to choose from.   You only need to pick one to inspire you, unless you really want to challenge yourself and combine the 2!

Challenge #24 is open through Thursday, October 15th at midnight EST.   That gives you 2 weeks to play along for a chance to win a YNS gift certificate.   One random participant will win a $15.00 gift certificate to the YNS Store, plus if the winner uses YNS products on their creation they will receive an additional $5.00 on their gift certificate.  We also select our favorite creation featuring YNS products from all participants and announce a “Top Pick”.   The random winner and “Top Pick” will be announced on the YNS blog the Sunday following the challenge close.   Link up a picture of your creation from your blog, gallery, etc. at the bottom of this post and you will be entered to win.

Farewell September Guest Designer Vicki Poulton

September is coming to an end and it is time to bid adieu to our September guest designer, Vicki Poulton.   Oh how time flies when you are having fun and oh how we had fun this month!   Vicki’s creations made us smile all month long!

We are back with more inspiration for Challenge #23!   As always, we give you a choice with our challenge, either a sketch or color combo.   You only need to pick one to inspire you, unless you really want to challenge yourself and combine the 2!

The Top Pick for Challenge #22 is this sweet baby card created by Danielle Vincent of the blog D’s Crafty Connection.   Danielle’s card is full of wonderful details.   Check out the piercing, ribbon with sentiment layered over it, safety pin and layers of patterned paper.   The lion from the set King of the Crib looks great lounging with his paw extending outside the box, plus take a close look at the layering Danielle did on his mane.YNSSept2015

I Spy YNS Saturday – A Train

Saturday is “I Spy” YNS day!    “I Spy” is a chance for us to put projects created by YNS customers in the spotlight!

This week we spied the most adorable train card created by Beverly aka KraftyAunt on SCS.  Beverly created this accordion style card featuring the Santa Express stamp sets and dies.   What fun with the glitter and mix of traditional and non-traditional Christmas colors.   The ribbon connecting each train is a great way to pull it all together!
